Drawing from the collections held by the former Taipei County Cultural Center and the New Taipei City Art Museum, this exhibition traces the cultural context and the formation of the community across various historical stages in New Taipei City. By sampling multiple facets of modern and contemporary art history, it examines the intricate details of urbanization, exploring how people, events, and things interact and resonate within the weave of time and space.

"Reimagining Radical Cities" showcases the works of twenty-three local and international artists/art groups. Drawing on the rise of the “modern city” within a globalized context, the exhibition investigates the changes in industry, labor migration, economic and trade landscapes, and urban spatial politics that have emerged throughout urban modernization since the latter half of the twentieth century.

As a cross-disciplinary art group, Xindian Boys prioritize the tacit understanding of everyday life as the foundation of their work. Their fifth work, “Don’t Worry, Baby”, incorporates the artists’ long-term experience and observations of living in the Xindian suburbs, employing a location-based exploration of the Xindian River basin as its point of departure.

The “New Friends” exhibition symbolizes the birth of the New Taipei City Art Museum and a new local cultural community. Through the newly developed immersive interactive game ID and the six family-friendly installations co-created by seven artists, we invite the public to make new friends through games and experiences, and to create a new model for micro-communities in the digital era.

The New Taipei City Art Museum(NTCAM) launches the project “NTCAM On the Move” and stages the exhibition “Sensing Nature” in collaboration with the Tamsui Historical Museum and the 435 Art Zone this year, seeking to explore Tamsui, Banqiao and Pinglin along the river and trace the history of the city in the company of the river through art.

This exhibition attempts to situate YAO Jui-Chung’s Roaming Around the Ruins Series─The Civilization Built by Skeleton (1991-2005), a collection of New Taipei City Art Museum (NTCAM), as a centerpiece, where a dialogue transcending time and space is facilitated with the works of three other groups of contemporary artists, including LI Tzi-Mei, LIU Yu and Meuko! Meuko! X NAXS Corp. YAO’s work also encourages audiences further readings of the other nine works from NTCAM collection.

The exhibition To Martian Anthropologists invokes the imaginary future scenes from In the Name of Art by the Belgic art critic, Thierry de Duve, and invites the artists to leave, both in cyberspace and in the physical venue, all kinds of clues for the martian anthropologists who might land on Earth someday to launch a field research on the human civilizations.
