Lost and Found Notice of New Taipei City Art Museum (June 2023)

A. Storage and Disposal of Lost and Found Items
1. All documents containing personal information, such as ID cards, health insurance cards, driving licences, etc., will be handed over to the local police authority on the same day.
2. For the identifiable lost and found items with a value of NT$500 or above, the collection period is one month. If the item remains unclaimed after the collection period, it will be handled in accordance with the provisions of Articles 803-807 of the Civil Code and will be sent to the local police authority.
3. If the owner of the lost and found item cannot be identified, and the value of the item is less than NT$500, in accordance with the amendment to Article 807-1 of the Civil Code, which states that the ownership will be transferred to the finder if the item remains unclaimed after one month, and the item will be disposed of by the museum.
4. If the lost and found item is perishable, it will be disposed of on the same day for hygienic reasons.
5. For lost and found umbrellas, they will be offered for free at the museum for public use if they remain unclaimed 16 days after the announcement.

B. Claiming of Lost and Found Items
1. Please contact our Information Centre at (02)2679-6088 in advance to provide a detailed description of the lost and found item for confirmation and the expected date of collection.
2. When claiming the lost and found item, you are required to present your identity document, and it will be returned to you after it is verified by the museum and once you sign a receipt.
3. If you are unable to come in person, you need to fill out an authorization form and appoint a person to collect the lost and found item in person at the museum. The appointed person is required to present proof of identity and the original authorization form, and they will be returned to the appointed person after the documents are verified by the museum and once a receipt is signed by the appointed person.
4. If for any reason it is not possible for you to collect the lost and found item in person or by proxy, as the owner of the lost and found item, you may download and sign a receipt and provide a copy of the identity document to the museum. After receiving and verifying the documents, the museum will send the lost and found item to the designated location by cash on delivery service.
