As we near the three-year anniversary of Lee’s passing, his widow Ku Yueh and daughter Li Tian-hsin invited Professor Hsiao Chong-ray to curate the Embark and Blaze - The Inheritance of the Art of Lee Shi-chi exhibition, which returns to the birthplace of Lee’s artistic career – Banqiao and Xinzhuang - and showcases some of his grand, time-transcending paintings, allowing members of the public to see the divergent painting vocabulary embraced by the artist at different stages in his career. The exhibition, combined with related promotional activities, pays tribute to this key figure in Taiwanese art history and the important contribution he made to popular art and culture education. The exhibition will be shown at the Xinzhuang Cultural Arts Center and New Taipei City Arts Center, as well as online.
